Oscar Dresses

I'm so tired of Awards thank god they are over! It looks like white was the "IN" color this year at the Oscar's perfect for future brides to get wedding dress ideas. I guess Hollywood has the wedding blues! My favorite gowns are the following:


This dress is absolutely beautiful, very famine and romantic! It will also look good on most body types.


Love this classy and elegant look and Jennifer played with it by adding the bohemian style braid to the front of her hair....I think this gown is beautiful. If you are an older bride this will look spectacular.


I love this dress it reminds me of my very own designer wedding gown not the material but the design and style very fitted to the body and the beautiful train in the back. This dress is very glamorous.

There were a few dresses at the Oscar's that were not my cup of tea. The following are my least favorite dresses:


I didn't like this dress because of the material it looks like curtain fabric.


This look was all wrong I didn’t like that green necklace with this dress too much going on, on top. And the front layer is hiding her small figure.


I didn't like this dress because it looks like it doesn't fit. I think that bow is too big. The dress would have been nice if that bow would be smaller she has such a great figure to cover it up with all that fabric.

February Birthday's

On February 21st I celebrated my 29th birthday and went to see Tony and Tina's Wedding which I have been wanting to see for years. The play was hilarious we truly enjoyed ourselves. All kinds of things happened at this wedding lol...



After the play we had a drink and headed home for what was suppose to be a quite night but little did I know that my friends and family were waiting at my house to surprise me. It was really nice for my husband, mom, sister and friends to do that for me I really felt special! Thank you guys!





I also want to say Happy Birthday to the other February babies my sister Jessica, my nephew Stephen, my cousin Betty, and friends Lucas, Jam and Carlos!

Fashion Police at the Grammy Awards

So did you guys watch The Grammy’s on Sunday? Well I did, I love watching award shows for the fashion lol. Anyways I thought it was kind of boring this year. However, my favorite part of the show was when T.I, Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Kanye West and M.I.A preformed I thought they rocked it especially M.I.A she looked so cute and she was shaking her booty on stage on her DUE date…big ups to her!



I do have to say there were a lot of ugly dresses on the red carpet. If you were watching for inspiration on what to wear to a wedding or for your bridal party, good luck finding something. However, there were a few that got it right so here are my pick of favorite dresses:


This is by far my favorite of all she's not in the music industry but I think Lisa Rinna looked amazing in this dress. This is how sexy is done!


I love this cute pink fluffy dress and the red gives it a pop of color. I would so wear this to a wedding...hopefully I find something similar for a wedding I'm going to in April.


This dress screams glamorous I love it! The total look from hair, dress to shoes!

Ok now here's my list of the ugliest dresses...please stay away from these styles:


This futuristic look is not in style guys so stay away.


I know times are bad but come on find something more tasteful or that looks a little more expensive.


Poor Paula she never gets it right. This look is just not working sorry.

Nephew Time!

This Saturday I went to a Pet Expo in Edison New Jersey with my husband, two nephews and two dogs, we had a blast! After the long trip, playing and walking around we did, we were all tired that I need a break lol. We found a lot of interesting stuff for our pups that we bought and got a ton of free samples. Here’s a picture of Gio and Stephen and a huge snake around them, you’ll notice how scared Gio was lol!

Blast from the Past

My February pick for my blast from the past column! This is me modeling one of my dad's designs, he made it for me. I think this was at a place called "El Chi Cha" lol I believe it was in Queens and it was the happening place for Latinos in the late 80's and early 90's. I must have been about 6 or 7 years old because I remember still living in the Bronx when this picture was taken.

Yes I can eat cheese!

I’m not sure if most of you know but I have recently become a vegetarian although I didn’t eat much meat only around the holidays I am now a vegetarian. However, I love fish and still do so it’s been difficult to give up but I know it’s not good for my body because our waters are so contaminated. However, if I’m at a restaurant and it’s not a vegetarian one then I’ll probable eat fish which makes me a Pesco-vegetarian. I was on this strict vegan diet but as soon as the second week came along I didn’t know what to eat so I did more research and found that there are different types of vegetarians, hurray. That’s how I discovered I’m a Pesco-vegetarian and my husband is a Semi-vegetarian since I don’t eat meat anymore I won’t be cooking it either lol.

The first week I became a vegetarian was really hard because I thought vegetarians didn’t eat any kind of animal products which included cheese so I tried to go food shopping at Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s and it was really hard finding things for vegans OMG….I love shopping at those stores but never really read the ingredients of the stuff I was buying until now. What was really hard was almost everything had some kind of animal bi-product when I read the labels. I must have been at Whole Foods and then Trader Joe’s for hour’s lol. Although, I have to say Whole Foods had more vegan stuff. I’ll just take it one step at a time because starting off too strict was not the correct way of starting this healthy live style. Eventually I’ll become a Lacto-ovo-vegetarian which means no fish and then hopefully a Vegan meaning I won’t eat any animal products or any animal bi-products.

Some Health Benefits:
Some vegetarians have been found to live a lot longer by eating unprocessed foods and choosing not to eat meat.

Something that’s really disgusting:
Rennet can be found in cheeses and that is the stomach acid of a cow. Yuck! My advice buy organic cheese or just eat soft cheese most soft cheeses don’t contain rennet only hard/dried cheeses

You’ll notice a few changes to my site, that is, because I’m in the process of starting my own business as an Event Planner so there will be some changes to my blog. First I changed the name of my blog it’s now www.fancypartyplanning.blogspot.com! Next I’ll mostly blog about my business however I’m still going to post about things I’ve done/ seen or if something interesting comes to mind.

Right now I’m super busy educating myself on this business I’m taking classes to learn all the tricks of this trade. I’m also planning to attend a conference in California for Event Planners this summer and of course Samantha Goldberg’s class she is my inspiration. One can never be to educated lol! Last but not least I’m working on my web-site I’ll announce when it’s up and running.
